The love calculator everyone tries once (or ten times)

Remember writing two names on the back of your notebook and crossing out letters to play FLAMES? Thislove calculator brings that school-days fun online. Type your name and your crush's (or your partner's, or your best friend's), and get a love percentage plus your FLAMES result in a second. Then send it on WhatsApp and watch the reactions roll in.

How to use it

  1. Enter your name and their name.
  2. Tap Calculate love and watch the heart fill up.
  3. Read your love percentage, message and FLAMES result.
  4. Share it โ€” the link shows them the same result.

How FLAMES is calculated

Take RAHUL and ANJALI:

  1. Cross out letters common to both names, one pair at a time: A and L appear in both, so RAHUL โ†’ RHU and ANJALI โ†’ NJAI.
  2. Count what's left: 3 + 4 = 7.
  3. Count 7 letters around F-L-A-M-E-S and strike out where you land, then continue from the next letter. Repeat until one letter remains.

F = Friends ยท L = Lovers ยท A = Affection ยท M = Marriage ยท E = Enemies ยท S = Siblings

The love percentage uses a fixed formula on both names (order doesn't matter), giving a score between 35% and 100%. It's designed to be fun โ€” nobody gets a heartbreaking 0%.

Just for fun!

Of course, no calculator can measure real love. Use it to start a conversation, tease your friends or break the ice. Want more? See what your name says about you or send apersonalised festival greeting.

Frequently asked questions

How does the love calculator work?
It turns both names into a number using a fixed formula, so the same two names always give the same percentage (in either order). It also plays FLAMES, the classic school game. Itโ€™s pure fun โ€” real relationships are built on trust, kindness and communication, not maths!
What is FLAMES?
FLAMES stands for Friends, Lovers, Affection, Marriage, Enemies and Siblings. You cross out the letters both names share, count the letters left, then use that number to strike out letters of FLAMES in a circle until one remains.
Why do I get the same result every time?
Because the result is calculated from the names, not random. That way, when you share the link, your friend sees exactly the same score you did.
Should I use full names or nicknames?
Either works โ€” spaces and symbols are ignored, but every letter counts. Try full names, first names and nicknames for different results!
Are the names I type saved?
No. The calculation runs in your browser. Names only appear in the link if you choose to share your result.
