Pregnancy due date calculator

Congratulations! One of the first questions after a positive test is โ€œwhen is the baby due?โ€. Thispregnancy due date calculator estimates your EDD (estimated date of delivery) the same way doctors do, and shows how far along you are, which trimester you're in and when the important scans and tests usually happen. You can calculate from the first day of your last period, a known conception date or an IVF embryo transfer date.

How to use it

  1. Choose what you know: last period, conception date or IVF transfer date.
  2. Pick the date. For the last-period method, set your usual cycle length (28 days is typical).
  3. Read your due date, current week and the timeline of upcoming checkups.

How the due date is worked out

Due date = first day of last period + 280 days + (cycle length โˆ’ 28)

From conception: + 266 days. IVF: transfer date + 263 days (day-3 embryo) or + 261 days (day-5 embryo).

Example

If your last period started on 1 January 2026 and your cycle is 28 days, your due date is 1 January + 280 days = 8 October 2026. With a 30-day cycle, ovulation probably happened two days later, so the due date moves to 10 October 2026. On 6 October 2026 you would be 39 weeks and 5 days pregnant.

Typical checkups during pregnancy (India)

  • Weeks 6โ€“9: first ultrasound to confirm and date the pregnancy.
  • Weeks 11โ€“13: NT scan and first-trimester screening (double marker).
  • Weeks 18โ€“20: anomaly (level-II) scan.
  • Weeks 24โ€“28: glucose test for gestational diabetes.
  • From week 28: more frequent visits; growth scans as advised.

Frequently asked questions

How is the due date calculated?
Doctors use Naegeleโ€™s rule: add 280 days (40 weeks) to the first day of your last menstrual period. For cycles longer or shorter than 28 days the date is moved by the difference. From a known conception date, add 266 days; after IVF, add 263 days for a day-3 embryo transfer or 261 days for a day-5 (blastocyst) transfer.
How accurate is my due date?
It is an estimate. Only about 4โ€“5% of babies arrive on their exact due date; most are born between 37 and 42 weeks. An early ultrasound (before 14 weeks) is the most accurate way to date a pregnancy, and your doctor may adjust your due date after it.
Why is pregnancy counted from my last period and not from conception?
Most people know the date of their last period, but not the exact day of conception. So pregnancy is counted from the first day of the last period โ€” that is why you are already considered โ€œ2 weeks pregnantโ€ at conception.
When are the three trimesters?
The first trimester runs up to the end of week 13, the second from week 14 to the end of week 27, and the third from week 28 until birth.
Is my information stored?
No. The calculation happens on your device and nothing you enter is saved or sent anywhere.
