Birthday countdown
Excited about your birthday — or planning a surprise for someone else's? This birthday countdownticks down the days, hours, minutes and seconds to the next birthday, tells you which day of the week it falls on and how old the birthday person will turn. Make a countdown for a friend and send the link on WhatsApp: everyone in the group sees the same live timer.
How to use it
- Enter a name (optional) and the date of birth.
- Watch the live countdown. Untick Show age to keep the year private.
- Tap Share countdown to send it to friends and family.
How the countdown is calculated
Time left = midnight at the start of the next birthday − the current time
If this year's birthday has already passed, the countdown moves to next year. For a 29 February birthday in a non-leap year, 28 February is used.

Born on 15 August 2000? On 6 October 2026 your next birthday is 15 August 2027 — a Sunday —313 days away, when you'll turn 27.
