World clock: what time is it around the world?
Calling family in Dubai, joining a meeting with a client in New York or watching a match in Sydney? Thisworld clock shows the live local time in major cities side by side, along with the date, whether it's day or night there, and the exact time difference from Indian Standard Time (IST). Add the cities you care about — your list is remembered on your device.
How to use it
- The clock starts with India and five popular cities.
- Choose a city from Add a city… and tap Add.
- Tap ✕ on a card to remove it. If you're outside India, the first card shows your own local time.
How time zones work
Every time zone is defined by its offset from Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). India is UTC+5:30, Dubai UTC+4, London UTC+0 in winter and UTC+1 in summer (British Summer Time).
Time there = Time in India − 5:30 + (that city’s UTC offset)
Example
At 9:00 pm IST it is 9:00 − 5:30 = 3:30 pm UTC. New York in summer is UTC−4, so it is11:30 am there. In winter (UTC−5) it would be 10:30 am. That's why an online meeting that suits both India and the US usually falls in the Indian evening.
