Frequently asked questions

How accurate is this stopwatch?
It reads your device’s high-resolution clock, so the time itself is accurate to well under a hundredth of a second. Your reaction time when tapping the button (typically 0.15–0.3 s) is a much bigger source of error.
Does it keep running in the background?
Yes. The time is calculated from when you pressed Start, so switching apps or tabs doesn’t affect it. Keep the page open — closing it resets the stopwatch.
What is the difference between lap and split time?
The lap time is how long that lap took on its own. The split (total) time is the overall time when the lap was recorded. The fastest and slowest laps are highlighted.
Are there keyboard shortcuts?
Yes: Space starts and stops, L records a lap, and R resets (when stopped).
