Play tic-tac-toe online
The quickest game there is — and still fun after all these years. Play tic-tac-toe (noughts and crosses, or the “X-O game”) against the computer on Easy, Medium or an unbeatable Hard level, or hand the phone to a friend for a two-player match. It works offline once loaded, has big touch-friendly squares and keeps your score on your device.
How to play
- Players take turns placing X and O on a 3 × 3 grid. X goes first.
- Get three of your marks in a row — across, down or diagonally — to win.
- If all nine squares fill up with no line, it's a draw.
Strategy tips
- Start in a corner when you're X — it sets the most traps.
- Always block when your opponent has two in a row.
- Make a fork: create two lines that each need one more mark — they can only block one.
- Against Hard, aim for a draw: answer a corner opening by taking the centre.
Example
You (X) take the top-left corner; the computer takes the centre. You take the bottom-right corner; it plays an edge to stop the diagonal. Now you can threaten two lines at once only if it slips — on Medium it sometimes does! For a longer challenge, try 2048 or memory match.
