A simple online notepad
Sometimes you just need somewhere to write — a shopping list, an OTP-free draft of a message, meeting notes or an idea before it disappears. This online notepad opens instantly, saves every change automatically on your own device, and keeps several notes so you can switch between them. There's no account, no cloud and no clutter, and you can download any note as a plain text file.
How to use it
- Start typing — the note saves itself a second after you pause.
- Tap + New note for another note; pick notes from the list (named after their first line).
- Use Download .txt to keep a copy, or Copy to paste it elsewhere.
How your notes are stored
Notes are stored with the browser's localStorage, a small private storage area for this website on your device. Most browsers allow about 5 MB — roughly a million words — which is plenty for notes. Because nothing is uploaded, there's nothing for anyone else to read, but it also means notes don't sync between your phone and laptop.
Example
You jot down a recipe on your phone while watching a video. Later you reopen the page on the same phone and it's still there, titled by its first line, “Paneer butter masala”. Before switching phones, tap Download .txtand save the file to Google Drive or send it to yourself on WhatsApp.
Tips
- Private browsing (incognito) deletes notes when you close the window — use a normal window.
- Count words for an essay with the word counter.
- Never store passwords in plain notes — create and keep them in a password manager. Need one? Try the password generator.
