Learn number names in Hindi and English
Whether a child is learning ginti at school, you are helping with homework, or you need to read numbers in a Hindi form, this page has every number from 1 to 100 in Hindi words (एक, दो, तीन…), Devanagari numerals (१, २, ३…) and English, with ordinals like 1st and First. For bigger numbers, type them in the converter to get the Hindi and English names using lakh and crore.
How to use it
- Converter: type any number up to 12 digits.
- Find: search by digit, Hindi word or English word.
- Hindi only: hides the English column so children can test themselves.
Tips for learning Hindi numbers
- 1–10 and the tens (बीस, तीस, चालीस, पचास, साठ, सत्तर, अस्सी, नब्बे) are the base — learn them first.
- Numbers ending in 9 often start with उन (“one less than”): उनतीस = 29, उनचास = 49, उनसठ = 59.
- Practise ten numbers a day and say them aloud while counting objects.
Example
The year 2026 is दो हज़ार छब्बीस in Hindi and Two Thousand Twenty-Six in English; in Devanagari digits it is written २०२६. Writing an amount on a cheque instead? Userupees in words.
