Time zone converter
Scheduling a call with a client in New York, family in Dubai or a team in London? This time zone converter takes a time in one place and shows the same moment across the world's most-used zones —IST, GMT/UTC, EST, PST, GST, Singapore, Sydney and more. It applies daylight saving time correctly for the date you pick, marks results that fall on the next or previous day, and highlights times outside normal working hours.
How to use it
- Enter the time and date.
- Choose the time zone it's in (India by default).
- Read the matching times everywhere else.
Example
A meeting at 8:30 pm IST on a Wednesday in October is 11:00 am in New York,4:00 pm in London and 7:00 pm in Dubai. In December, after US and UK clocks go back, the same 8:30 pm IST becomes 10:00 am in New York and 3:00 pm in London. To see the time in many cities right now, use the world clock.
Frequently asked questions
What is the time difference between India and the USA?
New York is 9½ hours behind IST during US daylight saving time (March to early November) and 10½ hours behind the rest of the year. California is 12½ or 13½ hours behind. India does not use daylight saving, so only the US side changes.
What is the time difference between India and Dubai?
Dubai (UAE, Gulf Standard Time) is 1½ hours behind IST all year — 9:00 am in India is 7:30 am in Dubai. Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Qatar are 2½ hours behind.
Does the converter handle daylight saving time?
Yes. It uses your browser’s built-in time-zone database, so daylight saving changes in the US, UK, Europe, Australia and New Zealand are applied automatically for the date you choose.
Why does the result show “next day” or “previous day”?
Large time differences can move the time past midnight. For example, 9:00 am Monday in India is still Sunday night in California.
